Bar and Terrace

Casual dining is served daily in the hotel's Cedar bar, named for the ornate panelling carefully carved by the famous Grindlin Gibbons, from a cedar tree that fell in the great storm of 1930. Complete with comfy leather armchairs and a welcoming open fire, not to mention glorious views down the Avenue of Limes, both hotel guests and local residents are guaranteed a warm welcome.

During those long and hazy summer days, Lainston House is also privy to a pretty Indian stone terrace. Complemented by far reaching views across the 63 acre estate, guests can choose to tuck into an award-winning dinner, pick up a picnic, or simply while away the afternoon over a refreshing glass of Pimm's.

The Avenue's Chef's Table

A truly unique dining experience enables guests to watch as Lainston House's talented chefs prepare six seasonal dishes for a tasting menu. Featuring only the highest quality ingredients from the on-site kitchen garden, local fish from the south coast, game from Hampshire, and the finest shellfish from Scotland, guests are in for a cacophony of culinary delights.

This interactive dining experience is the perfect way to impress colleagues, friends or family, with the chefs personally presenting and describing each dish, instead of a traditional menu being present at the table. Following the tasting menu, guests also have the opportunity to take a tour of the kitchen.

This tantalising experience is available to enjoy for either lunch or dinner.
